The 3 Week Course in Acting is a great training for would be actors to experience what the industry holds for them regardless of what form of entertainment sector they branch into. It will instil you with confidence and self-esteem and equip you with tools and skills required of an actor, be it on stage or screen. You will mainly have classes in:
> Acting
> Voice and speech
> Movement
> Singing
> Improvisation
> Theatre Games

After graduating from the 3 Week Acting Course you are presented with a certificate which recognises you as a member of the Youth Theatre. You are then eligible to audition every year to be in a Production with us which will be shown in schools, colleges, art centres and theatres. You may re-audition to do a Production with us until you reach 28 yrs.
AGE GROUPS
There are 2 age groups in the Youth theatre, one consisting of the juniors and u18's, and the Seniors over 18's. The reason for this is that because of the vast gap in age for applicants, (14-27) we feel it would be unsuitable to mix the very young with the older youngsters. We feel there is also the fact of familiarity within your age group for the u18's, and feel that after 18 one tends to feel more independent to mix with older age groups.
DAILY CLASS HOURS
The daily classes are 3 hours long for both the Juniors and the Seniors. The Juniors will have classes between 10am-1pm. The Seniors will have classes between 2pm - 5pm. everyone is expected to attend all classes. Attendance is not optional. Lateness is not tolerated, and due to the sensitive nature of acting, extreme latecomers may not be allowed to join a class and may be sent home.
COURSE COSTS
New Offer - For our first 50 applicants for the 3 Week Acting Course; they will be able to do the course for FREE! Please note this only applies for the first 50 applicants. For the rest of our applicants who are offered a place we are offering a scholarship deal to every student only for this year's course. So instead of paying the normal course fee of GHC 200 for the 3 week course, applicants will only pay GHC 100. All Course Fees must be paid in full before embarkation on the course.
THE K. BOATENG YOUTH THEATRE - PRODUCTIONS
Once you have completed your 3 Week Acting Course with us, you will be presented with a certificate, making you a member of The K. Boateng Youth Theatre. You will then be eligible to audition each year to be in our Theatre Productions and Creative Arts based activities which we run in Ghana. The productions may be shown in Schools, Colleges, Universities, Art Centres, and Theatres in Ghana.
The K. Boateng Youth Theatre aims to provide high-quality, educational and engaging theatre productions. As we all know that the young are the future, and that if you teach them right, they will be proud to be shining examples of yourselves; in support of this, we passionately believe that young people should be given a voice, and through our productions we endeavour to highlight a number of burning issues concerning young people, and bring them to the forefront of society. We believe in doing this, we equip them with the correct moral and ethical make-up needed for themselves to be the role-models in society, and for the next generation after them; their children, and their children's children, and thus the circle continues.
